Ultherapy is a non-invasive energy based treatment that uses ultrasound technology to lift skin and promote collagen production with heat energy. It bypasses the skin and heats deep tissue to restructure your skin from within. Skin will tighten and tone throughout the course of six months and that is the same amount of time needed for your collagen to rebuild to see the optimal results. It can be used to tighten skin on the lower face and neck.
What is Ultherapy
Ultherapy treats the following
- Sagging skin
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Loose skin around the eyes
- Double chin
- Uneven skin tone and texture
- Drooping brow line
- Neck wrinkles and folds
How does Ultherapy work
Ultherapy works by sending ultrasound technology deep into the tissues, it reaches the fourth layer of the skin called smas layer (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) to reprogram the collagen and tissues without disrupting and damaging the skin’s surface. The body’s healing response will trigger new collagen and elastin production from the heat emitted from the hand piece. Ultherapy has a built-in imaging System called DeepSee allowing our technicians to see exactly where they are treating and how deep they are underneath the skin for effective and accurate treatment.
What to expect
Before your Ultherapy treatment, your face will be cleaned and your technician will apply numbing cream. Once you are numbed, the technician will then map out your face with a white makeup liner and apply ultrasound gel on your face. Pain killers can be provided for your comfort. During your treatment you may feel a tingling and tightening and heat sensation.
The following may occur after treatment:
Wear sunscreen and avoid sun exposure. Ice the treated areas if necessary. Do not drink or smoke for 7 days.
Ultherapy is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that uses ultrasound technology to lift, tighten and tone loose or sagging skin on the face, neck and chest.
Ultherapy works by delivering focused ultrasound energy deep into the skin, triggering the body’s natural regenerative response. This stimulates the production of collagen, a protein that gives skin its elasticity and firmness, resulting in tighter, smoother skin.
Ultherapy can be uncomfortable for some patients, but it is generally well-tolerated. A topical numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area to minimize any discomfort.
The length of an Ultherapy treatment can vary depending on the treatment area. A full-face and neck treatment can take up to 90 minutes, while a brow lift treatment may take as little as 30 minutes.
Some patients may experience redness, swelling, or mild tenderness after an Ultherapy treatment, but these side effects are usually mild and subside within a few hours to days.
Results from Ultherapy can take several months to fully appear as collagen production increases over time. Patients may notice some immediate improvement in skin firmness, with more significant improvements appearing over the following months.
The results of Ultherapy can last up to two years or more, depending on the individual’s age, skin condition and lifestyle factors. Maintenance treatments can help to extend the results of Ultherapy.
