Hydrafacial provides physical and chemical exfoliation while simultaneously cleaning out pores and hydrating the skin by secreting the treatment serums onto the skin with its hand piece, different tips are used during each step. Treatment duration can be from 30–60 minutes, depending on what kind of treatment you are getting.
Hydrafacial works in 3 steps:
Step one – CLEANSE + PEEL
This step uses the blue tip and the Activ-4 solution, it contains lactic acid exfoliate and soften up sebum to make it easier to come out. Glucosamine is included to boost hydration levels. The tip is changed to the teal tip and Glysal prep is then used to break down dead skin cells, black heads and white heads. It contains a combination of AHA and BHA (Glycolic acid 7.5% + Salicylic acid 2.0%) it’s non-irritating and penetrates deep into the pores to make the skin clean.
Step two – EXTRACT + HYDRATE
Using the teal tip and Beta-HD solution contains willow bark and tasmannia fruit/leaf extract to treat oil and congestion, it also contains honey extract to hydrate the skin and flower extract to calm and soothe skin along with gentle exfoliation from salicylic acid.
Step three – FUSE + PROTECT
Using the clear tip with the Antiox + solution, it detoxifies skin and helps fight against free radicals with anti-oxidants, it also contains hyaluronic acid to moisturize the skin and peptides to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Before your Hydrafacial treatment, your technician will thoroughly clean your skin, you should not feel any pain. The force of the suction and amount of serum used can be customized to suit your needs.
After your Hydrafacial treatment, your skin may be red from the suction. The redness will subside within a couple of hours. Aftercare will be applied along with sunscreen.
